 Hot Points to Consider

hot points
  • Never keep items of clothing that no longer fit, might one day fit; has obvious wear and tear; are faded; haven’t been off their hanger in a year or that don’t make you happy!

  • Consider bringing an item back to life with a good dry clean! You’d be so surprised how fresh your favorite blazer can look after a professional launder.

  • If it’s not in your budget to purchase several on trend items, consider updating your shoes instead. Shoes can elevate a look and Target can get you there for around $30!

  • Dress for who YOU are. Trends are fun but if they don’t make you feel better about your outfit then stick to what you know. You can still maintain a current trend by following the color palette, not necessarily the shape or style.

  • Don’t be afraid to look for a good coupon! Stores almost always have something they are willing to offer you to initiate a relationship. And on that point, free shipping too!

  • Price isn’t always the most important thing. This works both ways! Just because an item is under $25 and it’s from Nordstrom Rack doesn’t mean it won’t be that one long standing item. In reverse, just because its a designer item over $500 isn’t the catalyst for it being the best thing in your closet. Purchase wisely and consider how this item will integrate into your current lineup.

  • Seasonal organizing is key to keeping your wardrobe flowing. If your closet is out of control you won’t be able to find anything! At the beginning of a new season go through all of your hanging items, these are generally the ones on constant rotation, and re-organize, remove, donate or discard the pieces that don’t seem like they’ll make it through another season.
